Translation from Russian into Chinese or from Chinese into Russian
Translation from Russian into Chinese or vice versa is often necessary in such situations as:
- Admission to higher educational institutions: Provide copies of secondary school certificates, diplomas, other educational certificates.
- Employment: passports, resumes, recommendations, diplomas to apply for jobs in foreign or Russian companies.
- Immigration: birth or marriage certificates, other documents for visas or residence permits.
- Business: Translation of contracts, statutory documentation, financial statements for doing business in China or Russia.
- Medical purposes: medical certificates, extracts from patient records, prescriptions for treatment in another country.
- Legal matters: wills, death certificates, powers of attorney, and legal papers for presentation in courts or other official bodies.
Official translation from Chinese
This is the kind of wording you may see in the requirements of various authorities. What does it mean? Depending on the purpose, certification by a notary public or by the translator's signature and the agency's seal may be required.
- Confirms that the translation was made by a qualified translator and stamped by a notary public.
- Usually required for official documents: passports, birth/marriage certificates, real estate certificates.
Confirmation by the translator's signature
- Confirms that the translator certifies the correctness and accuracy of the translated document with his/her signature, as well as the seal of the company.
- Needed for papers not to be notarized.
Do I need additional legalization?
To use most Chinese papers in Russia used to require consular legalization through the embassy. But the PRC has recently completely joined the Hague Convention on Apostille (before that it was accepted only in special regions of Macau, Hong Kong), which greatly simplifies the document flow between our countries. Several bodies are involved in apostilization, for example, the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Education, and in some countries the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also, there is a treaty between China and our country on mutual recognition of education documents. This means that school certificates, diplomas from universities, and any credentials do not require anything more than a notarized translation into the official language.
In any case, it is best to find out the exact requirements from the agencies or organizations you plan to contact before you travel.
